True Fans
1000 True Fans is a concept developed by Kevin Kelly, creator of “Wired Magazine”. He argues that any creative individual need only acquire 1,000 True Fans willing to spend $100 on their creative output in order to make a decent living. (eg. 1000 x$100 = $100,000p.a) Our 1000 True Fans project is a pilot programme that aims to take Kelly’s premise and apply it to the production and distribution of indigenous-language films. It is a multi-phase programme involving
• The sourcing of individuals and businesses willing to fund local films
• The sourcing of individuals willing to purchase completed local film product
• The development of Marketing and Networking Skills amongst filmmakers to meet Fan needs (and encourage greater spend)
• The development and funding of 8 local films
• The Marketing & distribution of 8 local films
