Hello-I-Must-Be-Going-Movie-Pic-Three

Oh I love Melanie Lynskey. It’s my minor claim to fame that I tweeted to her once, and she tweeted me back. (It’s the small things.) Anyway, I totally loved her in Hello I Must Be Going. She plays awkward sad-sack Amy, freshly and unexpectedly divorced at 35, and back living with her well-meaning but kind-of-oblivious parents. She spends her days not leaving the house, watching old Marx Brothers movies and barely changing out of a grimy old t shirt, until her father’s client comes to dinner with his 19 year old son. Lynskey is just so good, and she inhabits the role so completely, that you root for her entirely. It’s lovely. It filmed in Westport, Connecticut and the waspy-ness is tangible.
