Lockout is the kind of film I don’t really understand how it gets made. Set on a prison-in-space, it stars Maggie Grace as the president’s daughter who’s trapped when the prisoners break free, and Guy Pearce as the lone-flying action hero who’s sent to save her. Guy Pearce. Seriously. I mean, I think Guy Pearce is a fantastic actor and everything, but I wouldn’t think he had the box office clout to drive anyone (except maybe his Mom) to the movies.

Anyway, Lockout shot in Serbia, at the PFI Studios, and it looks great. Over all, I’d say it’s a pretty good, Eurocorp/ Luc Besson actioner that comes with very few surprises. I enjoyed it without being much engaged by it.
