This week I’m back in Tblisi, Georgia in the Caucasus region of Eastern Europe. I’m working with the East European Cultural Partnership, advising Tblisi City Hall on the elements required to develop the film industry and support and promote production on location in the capital. I was last here with the Ministry of Culture / Georgia National Film Center four or five years ago, and the intervening years have brought tremendous success (TWO Georgian films on the Oscar shortlist) and stultifying stagnation (film incentives? what?) So hopefully these sessions can get us moving again.
